Xmas in the Snow
Who doesn't dream of a cosy Christmas in the snow, as if time had stood still? Sledging or skiing, followed by a mulled wine by the warm fireplace.
Daryja and Oliver show that this doesn't have to remain a dream.
In the region of Saxony, right on the border to the Czech Republic, the pair bought an almost 200 year old old mountain hut.
They renovated it according to their ideas, trying to reuse many of the old materials and preserve the old substance as much as possible.
However, they did not want to do without modern amenities, so they combined historical materials with modern technology and vintage finds to create
a very special chalet in the mountains for themselves and their holiday guests.
Especially at Christmas time, a feeling of peace and cosiness is created up here.
The cross-country ski trail starts right on the doorstep, the nearest village is within walking distance and there are wonderful views over
the snow-covered landscape everywhere.
