Natural Modern Rustic
In the north of Germany, in Northern Frysia, there is a special territory, the Eiderstedt peninsula.
Surrounded by meadows, in a circle of listed old lime trees one can find an old thatched cottage.
In former times, the local teacher lived here, who taught the children of the small neighborhood.
The two creatives Angelika and Gerrit bought this cottage and they have transformed it into a retreat,
with warm and casual ambience and a wide view into the landscape.
You can watch sunsets, fog and storms from inside the house in autumn and winter,
or from the deck chairs outside in spring and summer.
The main topic is for them combining nature and sustainability by rustic, natural materials and colors.
Therefore a collection of many dried grasses, fishing nets, old refurbished wooden floorboards and doors,
concrete floors with underfloor heating, as well as thepanoramic windows in the kitchen, bedrooms and bathroom.
The large windows not only provides a landscape view, they also let a lot of light into the house.
The kitchen island is the center of the house, where you can cook, eat, talk at the same time.
It can also be converted into a home office, which is important in ourdays.
With lots of love for unusual details, Angelika and Gerrit have transformed the old house into the modern age.
This is how we all like to live since 2021!
