Dreaming of White Christmas
Draped in a thick blanket of snow, the Ahrendsen family’s half-timbered house takes on a particularly festive character at Christmas time, when countless candles are lit
and every corner is adorned with blankets, furs and cushions.
Built in 1923, the house bears a subtle resemblance to the English Tudor style, despite its location in northern Germany, close to the Baltic Sea.
Inside, it is furnished with vintage and brocante pieces in soft off-white tones, sourced mainly from the Netherlands, France and Scandinavia.
The family have lived here for more than 25 years, and for just as long the interior has been in a state of gentle evolution.
Not only at this wonderful time of the year, the creative owners are rearranging the decoration around the house, furniture is sold, lovely vintage peaces are collected and
new vintage finds are continually introduced. As the animals are around the Christmastree, this time fairy lights and only a few real candles have been lit.
The athmosphere is relaxed and cosy.
