Simply Scandic
For Carolin and her husband Sebastian, it was clear from the start that it had to be an historical house.
In 2020 they were looking for a home after graduating.
After a short while they found a lovely house from the 1930s not far from Berlin.
It was too small for their growing family but Carolin, who was working as a city planner, had the idea of a modern extension.
She had an immediate vision and drew up the design herself.
After 18 months of extensive renovation and a lot of personal effort, they were finally able to move in.
The ground floor was almost completely gutted to create an open, bright living, dining and kitchen area.
Upstairs there is a bedroom, a bathroom and two children's rooms in case the family is growing even more.
Carolin has furnished the house in a modern Nordic style, combining contemporary living conditions with classic old building elements.
