The Day before Christmas
On the west coast of Schleswig Holstein the winter seems particularly long and the winds are blowing stronger and colder than anywhere else.
One can be happy, who has a comfortable thatched roof cottage to call his own.
Elke is such a lucky girl.
She lives in this 150 sqm former farmhouse from 1879 with her husband Bastian and dog Bo.
At Christmas time they always have a fire in the fireplace, chairs get covered with warm sheepskins and candles are lit everywhere.
The whole house looks warm and inviting, makes one forget the cold weather.
Elke is a painter and lives a bohemian life.
In addition to the apartment, she has her studio, and a small shop for Scandinavian home accessories and fashion.
