Guesthouse in Spring
A former bakehouse, located between the two rivers Weser and Hunte, right on the dike in northern Germany, is now serving as a guest house for friends and family.
Barbara and Lothar, who worked as a country doctor in the area, converted the small house with a lot of personal effort and even more creative ideas.
The bakehouse was built around 1900 as part of a group of buildings, but the buildings and garden were not in good condition when Barbara and Lothar took them over.
Over the following years, they had to put a great deal of time and effort into renovating the buildings and creating the beautiful hedgegarden.
A well-known set designer from Hamburg helped his friends with his knowledge and extensive skills, painting the walls and furniture with high-quality paints from
Farrow & Ball according to Barbara's ideas and clearly contributing his creative touch.
Only high-quality, natural, partly historical materials were used in the renovation.
Barbara has furnished the guest house with a combination of antique, vintage and modern finds.
Her love for dogs, horses, gardens and flowers has found its expression throughout her home.
