The Surfer´s Summer Cottage
The two passionate surfers Andrea and Ralf have spent a lot of time travelling and  surfing all over the world, but not a lot of people know of surfing in Germany.
The most popular surf spots are located in St. Peter Ording and on the famous island of Sylt.
In 2019, Ralf, the owner of surfing-equipement wholesale business, and Andrea decided to buy a small cottage not far from these beautiful beaches.
The couple renovated it with their own hands. The result is a maritime retreat in a secluded location on an old dike dating back to the 13th century.
It was very important to both of them that the old house retains the charm of a dike cottage from the 1930s, despite all the renovations and modernisations.
The ceilings have been raised and walls have been taken down and a balcony has been added so they can have a wonderful view over the mostly flat landscape.
From time to time, however, the two are also drawn to faraway places.
Then they set off on adventurous journeys to distant countries in their self-built, historic Unimog.
During those times the surfer´s cottage can be rented out.
