In the heart of Schleswig-Holstein, in northern Germany, you'll find a thatched house dating back to 1794.
A place that uniquely brings together past and present.
It began life as a farmhouse built in a neighbouring village before being relocated to its current site.
The previous owner had the historic timber frame of the dilapidated building carefully dismantled and faithfully re-erected there.
The remaining parts of the house were reconstructed using reclaimed historic building materials and traditional techniques, complemented by a modern extension.
The result is definitely not a museum, but a contemporary home where modern textiles, architecture and building technology blend seamlessly with
historical craftsmanship.
With Antonia, the new owner, the house is now entering its next chapter.
She has furnished it according to her own vision and redesigned the outdoor spaces, including the kitchen garden.
Today, alongside Antonia's family, three sheep, a horse and a pony also call this special place home.
As a food editor and cookbook author, Antonia is full of ideas and is eager to bring new life to the house.
Plans include exclusive social dining evenings, where renowned chefs will prepare meals for a small group of guests.
In this way, the house will not only be preserved but will also become a place for exceptional food, inspiring encounters and the simple pleasure of sharing
a delicious meal together.
